Mediation

Milwaukee Divorce Mediation

Request Consultation
Collaborative divorce attorney Diane S. Diel also works as a mediator, helping both represented and unrepresented clients achieve agreements based on the needs and interests of both parties.

In addition, Attorney Diel also assists clients who are already working with other lawyers to find solutions to their issues. If you are referred to Diane in this way, your lawyer will most likely arrange the mediation and Diane will circulate an agreement for mediation and a request for information in advance of the mediation session.

What is Divorce Mediation?

In divorce mediation, the parties hire a neutral third party to assist them in reaching agreements. The mediator can provide information about the legal process and guide a discussion to help resolve issues.

The mediator does not represent either party and cannot provide legal advice. When Attorney Diel acts as a divorce mediator and you and your spouse have not hired individual lawyers, she will be able to help you and your spouse together create the documents that will resolve your case. She will not go to court with you at the final hearing.

What are the Benefits of Mediation in the Divorce Process?

The goal of mediation is to allow parties to reach agreements that meet the needs of both parties and their children without the financial and emotional cost of a court battle. The mediation process can be fairly quick and less costly compared to a traditional divorce.
